You can view or download this month’s Prayer and Praise diary here or read all of the points below.
Week 1
Sun 1st – DR Congo Continue praying for people who have been displaced from their homes by the civil conflict. In recent weeks the fighting has got so close to the Internally Displaced People camps around Goma that large numbers of people have started fleeing the camps to fend for themselves (aid agencies tend to focus their support on the camps so typically they’re the ‘best’ place to be).
Mon 2nd – Uganda Continue to pray for the babies that have been born at Wakisa in recent months with physical complications. Pray for these babies and their mothers as they deal with the immediate and longer-term challenges of these complications.
Tue 3rd – India Praise God for the teachers at BCM. Praise God for their wisdom, compassion and empathy as they teach, train and support children who come from incredibly challenging environments.
Wed 4th – Indonesia Praise God for the continuing success of our partner’s savings group program in Sumba. There are now 25 saving groups, and many families are already testifying to how they are being positively impacted and benefiting from the groups.
Thu 5th – Cambodia Pray for the 15-year-old girl in Sunshine’s School Development Program who was recently involved in a traffic accident and suffered from a number of broken bones. Pray for God’s healing and comfort over her body and mind as she recovers from the accident.
Fri 6th – Uganda Praise God for Joseph, CFM’s new outreach coordinator. Pray that God would bless his efforts to share the gospel in their communities.
Sat 7th – DR Congo Praying for safety and God’s hand over Stanislas (from Ephphatha) as he travels to the capital (on the other side of the country) this month to contribute to the development of a Congolese sign language dictionary.
Week 2
Sun 8th – Uganda Praise God for the young mothers who have recently returned home and are now making an income thanks to the vocational skills they learned through Wakisa’s vocational training.
Mon 9th – DR Congo Continue praying that overseas media, governments and organisations would give more attention to the situation in the eastern DR Congo and provide more support to the people suffering as a result of this conflict.
Tue 10th – Cambodia Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as Sunshine considers expanding their School Development Program into a new rural province, where there are a number of ethnic minorities and families are suffering from high levels of poverty and challenges in accessing education.
Wed 11th – Indonesia Praise God that our ministry partner’s interventions to help moderately and severely malnourished children continue to go well. Praise God for the children that have progressed enough to change nutrition status.
Thu 12th – India Continue praising God for the students at BCM’s vocational training centres. Praise God that the number of students continues to increase and pray that He would bless their efforts to empower themselves through skill acquisition and hard work.
Fri 13th – DR Congo Pray for protection over Ephphatha and the deaf community during this recent Mpox outbreak. Because of the way public health announcements are communicated, members of deaf community can often be at higher risk during outbreaks like these.
Sat 14th – Uganda Praise God for the ongoing success of CFM’s Pilot Agricultural Program in Mafudu village. Praise God for the significant impact it’s already having on families in terms of food security and income generation.
Week 3
Sun 15th – DR Congo Praise God for HEAL’s Uamusho project, which provides support, education and empowerment for young people living on the streets. Praise God for these young people who are trying to turn their lives around and pray that God would give them strength and bless their efforts.
Mon 16th – Uganda Praise God for the girls at Wakisa, who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour in recent months.
Tue 17th – Indonesia Praise God for the new commercial partnerships (with a hotel, school, café and hospital) that mean farmers in our partner’s program now have a more reliable way to sell their produce (and at higher prices) than at local markets.
Wed 18th – India Praise God for the women in BCM’s vocational training program. Praise God that women from all castes are able and willing to come together to empower themselves, increase their independence, and help support their families, through vocational skills and understanding.
Thu 19th – Cambodia Pray for Sunshine as they fundraise for 2025. Many of their international donors are reducing their financial support, so pray for God’s guidance as they seek new partnerships and opportunities to share about their work supporting children in need.
Fri 20th – DR Congo Praise God for protecting pastors Papy and Temon (from Ephphatha) during their recent evangelical mission throughout South Kivu.
Sat 21st – Uganda Continue praying for our partners and the people of Uganda as there has been an increase in violent robberies and attacks in recent months (there is significant political and social instability and tension in the country at the moment).
Week 4
Sun 22nd – Uganda Continue praising God for Paula (Wakisa’s Centre Manager) and the excellent teamwork and team spirit at Wakisa that she’s fostered.
Mon 23rd – DR Congo Despite an official ceasefire between the DRC and Rwanda in recent months, fighting between the M23 rebel military group and the DR Congolese army continues, with the M23 taking control of even more territory in recent weeks. Continue praying for God’s protection over the people of Goma and our ministry partners living there.
Tue 24th – Cambodia Praise God that, despite the funding challenges they’ve been facing, Sunshine has been able to continue having great success with their Development Programs and Amnor outreach project.
