You can view or download this month’s Prayer and Praise diary here or read all of the points below.

Week 1

Wed 1st – WorldShare Praise God that His love and mercy never cease and are new each morning (Lamentations 3). Praise God for a new year and pray that he may continue to work through WorldShare and our ministry partners to serve and grow His kingdom.

Thu 2nd – Uganda Pray for those people affected by the recent flooding and deadly landslide in Eastern Uganda where CFM serve. At least 15 people were killed, over 100 are unaccounted for, and hundreds have lost their homes and livelihoods.

Fri 3rd – India Continue praying for the people in Bangalore and the surrounding areas who are still facing severe drinking water challenges. As one example, in Hosur Bande where BCM has a vocational training centre, the centre’s borewell is currently the only safe water source for the whole area. Continue praying for rain and that solutions can be found soon.

Sat 4th – Indonesia Pray for security over our partner’s Sumba office during this Christmas break (there is a lot of crime in the area) and for the safety of the team as many of them are returning from visiting their families in other parts of Indonesia.

Sun 5th – Cambodia Praise God for blessing Sunshine’s Christmas community celebrations last month. It was a great opportunity to share their faith and the good news of Jesus Christ with members of their community in a country with so few Christians.

Mon 6th – Uganda Praise God for everyone at the Wakisa Centre who, every day, are showing and sharing God’s love with outcast young mothers right when they need it most.

Tue 7th – DR Congo Continue praying for Elysee, the lab technician at Ephphatha, who has continued to struggle with ongoing illness and was recently hospitalised. Pray that she might have a full and timely recovery and return to full health soon.

Week 2

Wed 8th – Uganda Praise God for the young mums at Wakisa who have chosen to return to school and continue their education. Pray for them as they face the unique challenges of parenting alongside the ‘typical’ challenges of school life. Praise God that Wakisa can support them through their sponsorship program.

Thu 9th – DR Congo Continue praying for people who have been displaced from their homes by the civil conflict. The fighting has now got so close to the Internally Displaced People camps around Goma that people have started fleeing the camps to fend for themselves (aid agencies focus their support on the camps so typically they’re the ‘best’ place to be).

Fri 10th – Cambodia Praise God for the four children in Sunshine’s sponsorship program who graduated high school last month. It’s so exciting to see how far they have come since the program began.

Sat 11th – Indonesia Praise God for new Child Sponsorship Program that we’re developing with our partners in Indonesia. Pray for God’s would guide and bless our efforts to best serve vulnerable families, and the whole community, in Southwest Sumba.

Sun 12th – India Pray for a member of the BCM community who recently underwent surgery for stomach cancer. Pray that the surgery was successful in removing all the cancer, for a full and timely recovery and for any further treatment if it’s needed.

Mon 13th – DR Congo Praise God for blessing the awareness raising events that Ephphatha put on during the International Day of People with Disability last month.

Tue 14th – Uganda Praise God for all of the evangelistic activities that CFM was able to run around Christmas time. In particular, praise God for blessing the evangelism through sport and games program they put on for kids and young people.

Week 3

Wed 15th – DR Congo As children return to school continue praying for God’s protection over the Mugunga primary school. They are still facing an encroaching battlefront, increasing bandit activity in the area, and an outbreak of Mpox in the camps.

Thu 16th – Uganda Pray for the young mothers at Wakisa who aren’t able to return to school because they need to work to earn a living. Praise God for Wakisa’s vocational training program that equips and empowers these young women to support themselves and their children.

Fri 17th – Indonesia Pray for our partners in Indonesia as they look for a new health worker to join their Sumba team this year.

Sat 18th – India Praise God for the teachers, social workers, and program staff who work tirelessly to support the children and families in BCM’s programs. Pray that God would continue to give them strength, wisdom, and encouragement in their mission.

Sun 19th – Cambodia Pray for Pastor Sophorn and his daughter-in-law, who is due to give birth this month and has had a number of complications during her pregnancy. Pray for a safe delivery, good health for mother and child, and peace of mind for all the family members as the day approaches.

Mon 20th – DR Congo Praise God for blessing Nenette (from Ephphatha), who gave birth to healthy baby girl last month.

Tue 21st – Uganda Pray for the three children in CFM’s Bunambutye program whose mother passed away last month. Pray for the family as they mourn, for the whole community that has been affected and for CFM as they work to support them all.

Week 4

Wed 22nd – Uganda Praise God for the babies (and their mums) that have been safely delivered in recent months at Wakisa.

Thu 23rd – DR Congo Continue praying that overseas media, governments and organisations would give more attention to the situation in the eastern DR Congo and provide more support to the people suffering as a result of this conflict.

Fri 24th – Cambodia Praise God for the recent visit of Northlight Church members to Sunshine Cambodia. Praise God for keeping everyone safe and blessing their time together.

Sat 25th – India Pray for Shanthi, a teacher at BCM’s Women’s and Children’s Centre, who has been frequently unwell in recent months. Pray for her health and that if there is an underlying cause for her repeated illness they can find and treat it.

Sun 26th – Indonesia Pray that God would bless our partner’s efforts to start a new Children’s Assembly in one of the villages they serve.

Mon 27th – DR Congo The Ephphatha community has been impacted by a severe flu outbreak in their province over recent months. Pray for protection, good health and that this outbreak would end soon.

Tue 28th – Uganda Praise God for bringing Nicholas’ baby daughter back to good health. (We praised God for her birth in November, but since then she had been having some health issues.)

Week 5

Wed 29th – Cambodia Praise God for protecting Mr Kimhon and his family as they narrowly avoided a serious car accident last month while travelling between provinces.

Thu 30th – DR Congo Pray for members of the Goma community who continue to be impacted by the deadly capsizing of a transport ferry on Lake Kivu last year. People are still fearful of returning to the Lake and, as one of the last remaining transport routes in Goma, it’s having wide ranging impacts.

Fri 31st – Uganda Praise God for the girls at Wakisa who decided to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour over the Christmas season.
