Christian Fellowship Ministries, Uganda

Enabling church planting and trains evangelists, caring for the poor and disadvantaged, especially orphan children, stove/lamp & VSLA income-generating projects.

Uganda CFM

Since the brutal leadership of Idi Amin in the 1970s, Uganda has suffered the devastating effects of civil war, HIV/AIDS, and rebel conflict, claiming the lives of the parents of more than two million children. As a result, there is the very real danger of many of these children being recruited into gangs and rebel armies.

God has called John and Jesca Wandera to bring hope and healing to the broken-hearted, traumatised and helpless. They founded Christian Fellowship Ministries (CFM) with the aim of reaching Uganda for Christ through evangelism, church planting, orphan care, pastor leadership training, and a micro-finance scheme to empower their people to be self-sufficient.

CFM's vision is to:

  • Grow the child sponsorship program in Uganda to 2,000 children and orphans sponsored, over the next five years
  • Plant six churches a year
  • Provide a higher level of training to the pastors and leaders
  • Develop the evangelism program

Transforming lives in Uganda

TanzaniaUganda is home to 27 million people. The country was prosperous at independence in 1962, but was brutalised under the chaotic regimes of Milton Obote and Idi Amin. In that period, up to 800,000 Ugandans were murdered. In more recent times, the Lord's Resistance Army has abducted over 20,000 children to be soldiers and sex slaves.
