Transforming lives in China

China is the world's most populous country with more than 1.3 billion people - 20% of the Earth's population. Home to one of the world’s longest continuous civilisations with a rich heritage of art, architecture and language, it is a land of picturesque rural landscapes, crowded urban cityscapes and captivating beauty. Since the cultural revolution China has changed vastly. Today’s China is characterised by a growing economic prosperity, access to modern technology, a huge shift in urbanisation of rural villagers seeking work in the cities and a widening gap between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'.

WorldShare has ministry partners in three of the poorest rural areas and in Beijing.
