An Oasis in the midst of turmoil

The UNHCR has described the Syrian crisis as, “the great tragedy of this century.”

Six years of war and barbaric violence has torn this nation apart, forcing over 5 million people to flee.

Even after finding shelter in a new place life is a daily struggle, with around 70% of these refugees living below the poverty line.

In Lebanon, WorldShare is partnering with The Free Evangelical Association of Lebanon (FEAL) to restore hope and life to Syrian refugees.

Their Oasis program provides short-term relief and holistic care for Syrian families who have lost everything. Through the provision of basic food, clothing and other short-term relief supplies, the program helps Syrian refugees achieve stability and build a life in their new country.

But we need your help to meet the need. With the limitation of workers and resources many families are being turned away.

We recently met Amira* - a mother who was forced to flee with her four children. They witnessed first-hand the horror of war as they tried to escape. Amira describes the experience as soul-shattering. But it was only the beginning. This short video provides a glimpse into the new battle for survival that Amira and many others are now facing as refugees.

* To protect the identity of Amira and her family we have used a pseudonym
