“My sister went to work in the city years ago to help support our family and we haven’t heard from her since…I still get scared when I think of it, I worry that it might happen to me…”

Mary*

Across the world, the pressures of poverty force millions of children like Mary* to live a life filled with fear – at risk of child labour, early marriage, and exploitation.

Throughout all the communities we serve – from rural villages in Cambodia to urban quarries in India, from farmlands in Uganda to displacement camps in the DRC – children are at risk of being forced into child labour, trafficking, the sex-trade, and other forms of exploitation, simply because they were born into poverty.

This is not the life God intended for these children.

Which is why our partners are working tirelessly to help protect these children from exploitation through programs that are:

  • Supporting children to access education and stay in school,
  • Raising awareness of the risks and how to protect themselves from exploitation, and
  • Empowering families to support themselves and break free from poverty.

This Christmas, your generous gift can bring these children peace, safety, and the childhood they deserve.

Do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. – Matthew 19:14”
