Week 1
Thu 1st – WorldShare Praise God that His love and mercy never cease and are new each morning (Lamentations 3). Praise God for a new year and pray that he may continue to work through WorldShare and our ministry partners to serve and grow His kingdom.
Fri 2nd – Uganda Praise God for all of the evangelistic activities that our partner was able to run around Christmas time. In particular, praise God for blessing the evangelism through sport and games program they put on for kids and young people.
Sat 3rd – India Pray for the congregations and leaders of the local village churches in the communities our partner serves. Praise God for their faith and commitment in the face of many challenges.
Sun 4th – Indonesia Praise God for protecting our partner’s Sumba office during the Christmas break (there is a lot of crime in the area) and for the safety of the team as many of them travelled to visit their families in other parts of Indonesia.
Mon 5th – Cambodia Praise God for blessing our partner churches’ Christmas community celebrations last month. It was a great opportunity to share their faith and the good news of Jesus Christ with members of their community in a country with so few Christians.
Tue 6th – Uganda Praise God for everyone at our partner’s maternity refuge centre who, every day, are showing and sharing God’s love with outcast young mothers right when they need it most.
Wed 7th – DR Congo Despite the recent peace deals (between the DR Congo, the M23 and Rwanda) the M23 recently captured the city of Uvira (population 700,000), essentially taking control of the South Kivu province. Continue praying that the conflict will cease and that the steps towards peace that the countries are taking can continue moving forward.
Week 2
Thu 8th – Uganda Pray for our partner’s team member who is recovering after a recent miscarriage. Pray for God to heal her body and pour His peace and comfort over her as she mourns her lost child.
Fri 9th – DR Congo Pray for the girl, in year 8 at our partner’s school for the deaf, who was recently kidnapped on her way home from school. Praise God that her captors set her free after only a day when they discovered she had asthma. Praise God for delivering her safe but pray for her as she recovers from the trauma of the event.
Sat 10th – Cambodia Praise God for blessing our recent insight trip to Cambodia, which included a number of staff members, pastors and supporters. Praise God that it was such a powerful and encouraging experience for our supporters, our partners and members of the communities we serve.
Sun 11th – Indonesia Praise God for the 436 families (all with children under the age of nine) who recently received vegetable seeds and training and have committed to developing household vegetable gardens to help feed their families.
Mon 12th – India Pray for the children and families in our sponsorship program. Pray that they would experience stability and improved living conditions through the program, but also that they might find peace, hope and spiritual growth as well.
Tue 13th – DR Congo Pray for the students and staff members in our programs who are going through trauma counselling and training this month.
Wed 14th – Uganda Praise God for the young mums at our partner’s maternity centre who have chosen to return to school and continue their education. Pray for them as they face the unique challenges of parenting alongside the ‘typical’ challenges of school life. Praise God that Wakisa can support them through their sponsorship program.
Week 3
Thu 15th – Uganda Pray for Uganda’s national presidential election today. There has been political conflict and instability in the lead up, so pray for a safe and fair election today.
Fri 16th – DR Congo Praise God for the 16 people from the deaf community who gave their lives to Christ and were recently baptised at our partner’s church for the deaf.
Sat 17th – Indonesia Pray for our partners in Indonesia as they’re looking for a new health worker and a new admin staff member to join their Sumba team this year.
Sun 18th – India Praise God for the teachers, social workers, and program staff who work tirelessly to support the families in our partner’s programs. Pray that God would continue to give them strength, wisdom, and encouragement in their mission.
Mon 19th – Cambodia Pray for our partner’s program coordinator, Mrs. Chakriya, who underwent surgery in September and has been suffering from complications since. Pray for her healing to be complete, her strength restored and a full recovery.
Tue 20th – DR Congo Praise God for the street youths in our partners program who are starting their vocational training in sewing and tailoring this month.
Wed 21st – Uganda Pray for the young mothers at our partner’s centre who aren’t able to return to school because they need to work to earn a living. Praise God for our partner’s vocational training program that equips and empowers these young women to support themselves and their children.
Week 4
Thu 22nd – Uganda Praise God for our partner’s staff members – Winfred, Nicholas and Barbra – who are undertaking further studies this year to increase their skills and understanding to (even) better serve their communities.
Fri 23rd – DR Congo Praise God for the two teachers, at our partner’s school for the deaf who both gave birth last month. Praise God for safe deliveries and good health for both mothers and their children.
Sat 24th – Cambodia Praise God for the children in our sponsorship program who graduated high school last month. It’s so exciting to see how far they have come since the program began.
Sun 25th – India Please pray our partner’s staff member who has two close family members struggling with alcoholism. Pray that they might find healing and strength to overcome their challenges and pray for her efforts to support them at this time.
Mon 26th – Indonesia Praise God for the recent story-writing competition across our partner’s Children’s Assemblies where the theme explored being a ‘Generation of Peace’.
Tue 27th – DR Congo Praise God for His protection over our ministry partners thus far as they’ve been serving the vulnerable people in their communities under the most incredibly dangerous, traumatic and challenging conditions. Pray that He would continue to protect them this year as they continue to serve these communities.
Wed 28th – Uganda Praise God for the babies (and their mums) that were safely delivered over the Christmas period at our partner’s maternity centre.
Week 5
Thu 29th – Cambodia Praise God for blessing the training for pastors and church leaders last month. It was an incredible time of learning and growth.
Fri 30th – DR Congo Our partners and the deaf community they serve have been impacted by a severe flu outbreak in their province over recent weeks. Pray for protection, good health and that this outbreak would end soon.
Sat 31st – Uganda Praise God for the girls at our partner’s centre who decided to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour over the Christmas season.
