While the world turns away,

While the world turns away,
you can show Jesus’ love
and support the most vulnerable today!”
Earlier this year, a brutal civil war in the DR Congo reached a tipping point as a rebel army began attacking the city of Goma.
Around 3,000 people were killed in the first wave of the attack (reports from the ground say it’s more than doubled since then), hospitals were overrun, power and water were cut off and an already dire food shortage became increasingly more desperate.
And yet, while vulnerable families like Esther’s were sheltering for their lives (and facing one of the most harrowing humanitarian crises in the world right now) the rest of the world didn’t even seem to take notice.
In fact, not only was the global community not paying attention, they appeared to be actively turning their faces away, with major global powers choosing that moment to cancel up to 80% of their aid and development programs.
Our ministry partners are serving the most vulnerable communities across the world – many of which are being critically impacted by the global community turning their face away.
But as part of this community you know that Jesus calls us to love and care for our most vulnerable neighbours.
So, today, as the rest of the world turns away from our vulnerable global neighbours, I’m asking you to share in Jesus’ love and give generously to help families like Esther’s survive and have hope for a brighter future.
