Week 1

Sun 1st – DR Congo Pray for the father of Luanda (a staff member at our partner’s church for the deaf) who was recently hospitalised and remains seriously ill. Pray for healing for his body, and peace and comfort for his family.

Mon 2nd – Uganda Uganda’s national election took place last month with sitting president, Yoweri Museveni, being declared the winner. However, there continue to be protests in the streets and allegations of violence and intimidation towards opposition supporters. Please continue praying for peace and stability for the country and for safety and protection for our partners and the communities they serve.

Tue 3rd – India Pray for students in our partners’ programs as they return to school this year and praise God for keeping them safe over the holidays (sadly, during this time, as there is less supervision, there are often more cases of injury and abuse).

Wed 4th – Indonesia Continue praying for our partners in Indonesia as they’re still looking for a new health worker and a new admin staff member to join their Sumba team this year.

Thu 5th – Cambodia Praise God for the remarkable healing of a boy in our sponsorship program who recently suffered severe burns from boiling water falling on him. After spending a month in hospital his wounds are healing well, and the doctors have recently allowed him to return home. Pray for him as he continues to heal and regularly attends the hospital for follow-up care.

Fri 6th – Uganda Continue praising God for Joyce, our ministry partner’s new National Director. Pray that God would give her wisdom and guidance as she takes over leading the team this year.

Sat 7th – DR Congo Praise God for all the teachers who bravely continue to work to help kids learn and to make them feel safe and cared for, during this difficult and stressful time. Pray that God would give them strength and keep them safe.

Week 2

Sun 8th – Uganda Praise God for our partner’s livelihood manager, Barbra, and praise God that her mother and her aunt are both doing well now after recent complications from their chronic conditions of high blood pressure (mother) and diabetes (aunt).

Mon 9th – DR Congo Praise God for keeping members of our partner’s team safe as they have been travelling to a number of other cities (even crossing the border into Uganda) to visit other theology schools and schools for the deaf in recent weeks.

Tue 10th – Cambodia Pray for the new agreements that are currently being worked out between our partner and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Education. Pray for the decision-makers at these organisations and pray that they can all work together to best serve the community.

Wed 11th – Indonesia Praise God for the recent provision of a water tank from the local Department of Agriculture to support one of the community’s commercial garden initiatives.

Thu 12th – India Pray for the congregations and leaders of the local village churches in the communities we serve. Praise God for their faith and commitment in the face of many challenges.

Fri 13th – DR Congo Praise God for all the doctors, nurses, and social workers at our ministry partner’s hospital who continue to tirelessly support wounded victims of the ongoing violence.

Sat 14th – Uganda Praise God for everyone at our partner’s maternity refuge centre who, every day, are showing and sharing God’s love with outcast young mothers right when they need it most.

Week 3

Sun 15th – Uganda Praise God that the recent training focussed on domestic violence and positive parenting was so well attended and engaged with by parents in the community.

Mon 16th – DR Congo Pray for Dr Aaron, at our partner’s Centre for the Deaf, as he’s busy planning community engagement activities for World Hearing Day next month.

Tue 17th – Indonesia It’s currently rainy season in Southwest Sumba and there’s often an increase in cases of dengue fever and malaria at this time. Pray that God would protect our partners and the people in their community – particularly the children, who are more vulnerable – from these diseases at this time.

Wed 18th – India Pray for the children and families in our sponsorship program. Pray that they would experience stability and improved living conditions through the program, but also that they might find peace, hope and spiritual growth as well.

Thu 19th – Cambodia Pray for the staff member who has recently been struggling with poor sleep and whose health appears to be suffering as a result. Pray that she might be able to find the cause of her sleep problems, begin getting restful sleep again, and return to good health and full strength.

Fri 20th – DR Congo Praise God for our partner’s primary school that serves children living in nearby displacement camps. Praise God in particular for their food program that is providing nutritious food to children at school (often these are the only nutritious meals they’ll get that day).

Sat 21st – Uganda Praise God for the team training our ministry partner recently underwent as part of the transition in leadership they’re going through.

Week 4

Sun 22nd – Uganda Praise God for the success of our partner’s VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Associations) program, which recently continued expanding into three new communities.

Mon 23rd – DR Congo Pray for Temon and Papy, at our partner’s school for the deaf, who are studying theology and preparing for their upcoming exams. Pray that God might help them prepare well and show the extent of their learning and understanding.

Tue 24th – Cambodia Praise God for the success of our partner’s recent training for community leaders and local authorities. Praise God for the dedication of these leaders and for the knowledge and skills they acquired, which will help them serve their communities more effectively.

Wed 25th – India Praise God for the teachers, social workers, and program staff who work tirelessly to support the families in our partner’s programs. Pray that God would continue to give them strength, wisdom, and encouragement in their mission.

Thu 26th – Indonesia Pray for safety for our partners as they travel between the office and the villages. The roads are particularly challenging right now in rainy season as they become slippery, and many are prone to landslides.

Fri 27th – DR Congo Alongside all the immediate threats from this conflict, our partners keep expressing to us the amount of trauma that everyone in Goma is suffering from. Continue praying that God would pour down His peace on our partners and the people of Goma and help them to reconcile with the horrors they’ve seen and experienced.

Sat 28th – Uganda Praise God for the babies (and their mums) that were safely delivered this month at our partner’s maternity centre.

*WorldShare supports our partners in three ways – financially, programmatically and in prayer. Some of the programs mentioned in these prayer points may be supported in prayer only.
