Week 1

Wed 1st – DR Congo As Ebola cases surpass 1,000 and continue to rise, we ask for God to remove this dire threat to the people of DR Congo, particularly those living in and around overcrowded camps, who face heightened risks. We pray for the people who work for our local partners and for all the families and children under their care and also pray to our Saviour that a vaccine will be made very soon.

Thu 2nd – Uganda Pray for the leaders and staff of our two partners in the country as they closely monitor the impact of the Ebola outbreak, which at the moment is being contained well by the public health system. Also pray for our Lord’s protection of all the families and children under the care of our partners, that they would remain safe and well in the face of this dangerous pandemic.

Fri 3rd – India We praise God for the recent wedding of Mr M. (of our partner’s finance team) to Ms S. and ask the Lord to bless them both with a long and happy marriage.

Sat 4th – Indonesia We thank God that our local partner’s agricultural co-operative based in south west Sumba had a very successful third harvest, bringing higher sales than their second crop, aiding each family involved. Inspired by this progress, the farmers have started preparing more land to expand their gardens. Praise God for their hard work and bountiful harvest.

Sun 5th – Cambodia We pray to the Lord that all the program staff of our local partner are kept safe throughout the wet season during their many trips to far-flung communities to run program activities and interventions. May His continued guidance and protection remain with them as they serve and support vulnerable families and children.

Mon 6th – Uganda We pray for continuing financial stability in the face of adversity for our two local partners, as they plan their programs that they will roll-out over the following year.

Tue 7th – DR Congo Pray for Mr A. and Mrs M. who are preparing the children of our partner’s school for the Deaf for the upcoming state exams, school placement exams, and end-of-primary-school exams. May the Lord bless these students with success.

Week 2

Wed 8th – Uganda Join us in prayer for the two senior midwives of our partner’s hospital for God to continue guiding and blessing them, as they help deliver healthy babies.

Thu 9th – DR Congo Please pray that God will encourage and guide WorldShare’s sponsored school children under the care of our local mission partner, during their upcoming exams.

Fri 10th – Cambodia Please pray for the children under the care of our local partner as Grade-9 students undertake national examinations in July. We ask God to grant them wisdom and good health. May the Lord calm their anxieties and bless their efforts.

Sat 11th – Indonesia Please continue to pray for the regular children’s assembly meetings in the three villages where our local partner operates. Pray that the children will remain enthusiastic to participate, and positive changes to their lives will result.

Sun 12th – India Pray for Mrs J. of our local partner, who is preparing to give birth. Please pray with us for the safe delivery of her baby and may the Lord’s blessings be upon both mother and child.

Mon 13th – DR Congo Join us in prayer for the Congolese students living just over the Rwandan border, who missed their exams as a result of the border with DR Congo being closed due to the Ebola outbreak. May they know the love and grace of God as they deal with their disappointment.

Tue 14th – Uganda Pray to God to bless the efforts of our partner’s staff who continue to help young women arriving at their centre to learn new skills. When they leave with their babies, we pray that their new-found vocational skills will help them successfully start a small income generating business so they can earn enough to meet their needs.

Week 3

Wed 15th – DR Congo We ask God to intervene for reconciliation between peoples and nations. And we pray for peace in conflict zones, especially in DR Congo, as well as other parts of Africa, and around the world.

Thu 16th – Uganda Please pray for the leaders and staff of WorldShare’s local mission partner that provides shelter, care, food, medical assistance, and hope, to vulnerable mothers and babies.

Fri 17th – Indonesia Please pray to our mighty God for the smooth implementation of maternal classes in three rural villages. Pray that these classes run well and that many mothers attend, so they can learn how to keep themselves and their babies healthy.

Sat 18th – India Pray for new admissions to the school run by our local partner. May God increase student enrolments and bless the institution with growth and excellence.

Sun 19th – Cambodia Praise God for His wonderful healing and blessing of local partner worker, Mr S.’s family. Both his son and daughter were suffering from fever and mouth ulcers, yet with excellent medication and by God’s grace, they recovered quickly and were back to full health after just three weeks.

Mon 20th – DR Congo Pray for divine protection for the deaf students community and their parents as they are experiencing a heightened level of exclusion, because of the ongoing war and the Ebola virus outbreak which continues to spread.

Tue 21st – Uganda Praise God that our local partner’s most recent community training focussing on domestic violence prevention and positive parenting was so well attended and engaged with by parents.

Week 4

Wed 22nd – Uganda Please pray for our local partner’s Christian-based crisis pregnancy centre and all the Godly souls who carry out such vital work there. And we praise Him for the young women admitted to the centre who have come to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour over recent months.

Thu 23rd – DR Congo Pray for the sponsored children of our partner’s high school in their final year who will sit their exams soon. May our mighty Saviour’s love embrace them as they prepare, with the aim of earning a Diploma of Secondary Studies.

Fri 24th – Cambodia Praise God for the healing of M. who is sponsored by a WorldShare supporter. He recently suffered a severe hot water burn yet is now sufficiently recovered to be able to ride his bicycle to attend secondary school again. Monthly doctor follow-ups have commenced, but his progress is a true testament to God’s grace.

Sat 25th – India Pray for a marked improvement in the health of Mrs J. who works for our local partner. May God heal her from anaemia and diabetes, and grant her the strength to deal with the challenges she is facing.

Sun 26th – Indonesia Please continue to pray for WorldShare’s local partner’s proposal for two agricultural cultivator vehicles, currently under consideration by the Regent of Southwest Sumba. It’s been almost a year now, so please pray for a speedy positive resolution, so that the farmer groups can better develop their commercial gardens.

Mon 27th – DR Congo Please pray for the graduating ‘professionalisation program’ students of our local partner’s school who will soon start a three-month professional internship. May God grant them the wisdom to complete their internship and return with excellent results and the drive to revitalise their communities.

Tue 28th – Uganda Praise God for the successes of our local partner’s gospel outreach program. The lives of partners and leaders have been transformed through teaching and many people have received Christ into their lives through door-to-door evangelism.

Week 5

Wed 29th – Cambodia We pray to the Lord to bless the ideas, recommendations, and commitments that emerged from recent workshops to Government departments on enhancing education outcomes, improving education access to the vulnerable, and child protection, run by our local partner. We ask God that this leads to positive action and lasting improvements in the lives of children and young people across Cambodia.

Thu 30th – DR Congo Let us pray for the four orphaned children abandoned in the city of Goma who are currently staying at one of our partner’s centres. May God continue to protect them and may the Lord help our partner’s hard-working staff find their families.

Fri 31st – Uganda Our local partner’s Outreach Manager, Mr G., thanks God for the recent opportunity to start serving in the role of co-ordinating gospel outreach for them.

*WorldShare supports our partners in three ways – financially, programmatically and in prayer. Note that some of the programs mentioned in these prayer points may be supported in prayer only.
