Sponsor A Child
Sponsor A Child (SAC) programs are run by our Ministry Partners alongside other community development programs such as schools, orphanages, medical clinics, micro-finance, church planting and discipleship training. Together these programs benefit the whole community in which your sponsored child is a part of.

How much does sponsorship cost?
It costs $43 per month to sponsor a child through WorldShare. All donations made to the SAC program are tax deductible. A receipt will be issued at the end of the financial year, unless otherwise requested.
What does my sponsor child receive?
Each Sponsor A Child program is unique to the needs of the children and their families in their particular context. Sponsorship always covers school tuition fees and scholastic materials. It can also cover nutritious meals, shelter, health care, micro-enterprise loans, and community-wide education in health and literacy.
What do the sponsors receive?
When you sponsor a child through WorldShare, you will be sent a photograph and biography of your child. You will usually receive up to three letters from your child each year, in addition to reports about the Sponsor A Child program they are involved with.
Can I write to my sponsor child?
Yes, the children love to hear from their sponsors in Australia because it reminds them that someone loves and cares for them. You can write using the blank letter template included with each letter from your sponsor child, or alternatively you can forward the text of your letter to email@example.com.
Can I visit my sponsor child?
Yes, it is possible to arrange a visit to your sponsor child by joining a Short Term Team. This can be a life-changing experience for both you and your child. Please be aware that you will need to comply with WorldShare’s child protection policy, and there will be a cost incurred for transport, hospitality and staff facilitation of your visit.
What other sponsorship programs are available?
You can sponsor a girl to go back to school through the Wakisa Back to School Program.
